ROMANTIC: Solitude, nature, sublime.

Romantic age: 1785-1832, Covers a broad control layer: Art, literature , philosophy. ~Deeply connected to philosophical ideas, political notions, and also cultural values` Ideas that are gaining traction. Proliferation of poetry in this period may spark and inflation of sorts. Declining standards of poetry; an influx of overflowing talent. The moment society becomes more fast paced; Technological advancements in the field of printing, fueled by the Industrial revolution; Books were produced not just for the elite but also for the general public. + People did not have much time to dial in to have your literature = Much of printed material as a consequence would become of low quality: Paving the way to instant gratification. Literature produced will be catered and watered down to the needs and inferior tastes of the masses.  Only period which isn't defined by a term of political monarchy (Queen Elizabeth in the Elizabethan period, King Charles the first for the Caroline period,...

ideas of language origins

the indigenous communities were forced to assimilate, abandoning their culture for white society Similar to when the British still actively goes out of their way to stop the Irish from learning or even speaking Gaelic. comparison of old english to old chinese: the exposure of change is different. english has significantly less constraints to its absorbtion and adaptation of syntax and vocab, while chinese has more or less shuffled its language in its own soil. Thus english can be said to be vertically rich (in layers of different exposures), and chinese can said to be laterally rich (purely to syntactical and unifying changes)

William Blake

What are your thoughts on ‘innocence’ and ‘experience’? How would you define these states? How close or distant are your ideas to Blake’s?    Little Lamb who made thee             Dost thou know who made thee      Gave thee life & bid thee feed.       By the stream & o'er the mead;      Gave  thee  clothing of delight,      Softest clothing wooly bright;      Gave thee such a tender voice,      Making all the vales rejoice!             Little Lamb who made thee             Dost thou know who made thee               Little Lamb I'll tell thee,            Little Lamb I'll tell thee!     He is called by thy name,     For he calls himself a Lamb:      He is meek & he is mild,      He became a little child:    I.  a child & thou a lamb,       We are called by his name.     ...

obj truth

When we say that there is an objective truth to things, we are not wrong. We should remember though, that our definitions of reality adhere to our current perceptions that control it; that is to say, the pockets of time in which our world views are temporarily solid and immovable.  But this does not dispute the fact that change is immutable. For instance, we can observe the pen that I am writing with. This pen looks like a pen, feels like a pen and is a pen. That is my reality. It may differ with other pens in structure or material, but it does not change the fact that it is what it is: a convenient vessel for ink that leaves imprints on absorbent or tactile surfaces.  Now consider that we discover properties, not just alternating perspectives and uses, but properties new and unique to the idea of a pen, properties that inherently deny our previous understanding of the pen, properties that make the pen in its entirety something else entirely. In this manner, our realit...
