thing is culturally authentic literature can't seem to enter the attention of consumers unless they've made it into powerhouse publishing aka Western broadcasters who already have a stereotype in mind and won't take anything beyond that 

So does this mean it's not just a matter of what's shown to us but also our responsibility to dig beneath the radar and actively seek other perspectives?
