Every church has an interesting feature embedded within, a person, a learned, rational humanist and atheist. They are from the local humanist organisation, usually spurred on by an anti-theistic drive, and that works on community betterment in a similar tangent to the church for the sake of familiarity, but without the baggage of doctrine involved.
This person, after being cultivated, sourced or planted in their local church, has an intent and purpose to be said church's self-destructive component perhaps, and would be a guiding path and lever of accountability for the church's actions, ideally connecting the messages and doctrine of the church to be in line to be consistent with the moral and societal standard external to the church.
In terms of the engendered conflict, their motive is usually met with neutral or mildly miffed reactions, but nothing more, as they have a strict code of conduct that assimilates well with church culture in the most rational sense without compromising humanist ethos/ethics. To apply the Christian perspective, they are "wolves in sheep's clothing", but should refrain to position themselves as such.
Their Function includes:
1. provide a bridge for the lost and hurt, who are deconstructing/seeking to detach from the church.
2. Provide a perspective and a cultural check and balance in accountability for the congregation and circles within, such as cell groups, study groups.
3. With a frankness of atheism, they represent the Minority voice and the aim to increase exposure and acceptability between theists and atheists, to minimise
4. Reporting and educating atheists and non-believers in their humanist organisation on benefits as well as cultural shifts in the Christian narrative, which will inform and evolve the humanist approach to best influence a growth in rationality across the board.
