Untitled Project

Hello all, Nephi here! For Sharon / Stevie / Yue Qing 25th birthday, I would like to make a book compiling the wisdom, knowledge, and love from those she cares and loves very deeply about.

Reasons:

(1) Sharon as we all know is the number 1 question asker (so curious about everything...)

(2) Stevie always talks about wanting a mentor guiding her and I like to think that everyone of us acts that way in their life just as she does in our life

(3) Yue Qing always talks about her loved ones with a lot of admiration and she is consistently always fascinated by everyone

(4) Turning 25 sounds like a good time for wisdom

--------

So if you are able to, I would really love and appreciate it if you could take the time to fill up this google form up. You can choose to answer ALL the questions or some only, that is okay! If some is only 3 questions other than the must answers, that is super duper okay! But questions 1 to 5 are MUST answers please. The answers can be anything and everything, short or long. No need to be formal in language or whatever.

For overview of questions:

--------

Additionally, could I please have:

(1) 3 to 5 photos of yourself

(2) Any photos of Sharon

(3) Any photos of you and Sharon

(4) Any other photos you think relates to the answers

All photos can be uploaded here under your folder:

--------

If this can all be done by 2nd November (Sunday), I would really appreciate it as it would give me time to curate/design + print just in time for Stevie's birthday. But if you need extension, please let me know.

Alternatively, if this is like too much, we can schedule a call and I can interview you to get your answers too. I am really open to figuring out a way to making it work!

--------

Other Information:

(1) The design of the book would be similar with process magazine. you can view it here: https://www.instagram.com/process__magazine/?hl=en

(2) The arrangement of the book would either be based on topic OR people. All depends on the answers I receive.

(3) If you know someone that Sharon knows or knows of Sharon, let me know! So I can let them in on the project.

--------

Lastly, please please please do keep this project a secret from Sharon whether or not you end up being part of the book! Thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this!!

What is your full name and age?

*

The name and age is mostly for book credit purposes so it feels more like a published book. It does not need to be your government name.

Faith Foo

When is your birthday?

*

20/5/2001

How would you describe your life when you were 25? Or how would you imagine being 25 to be?

*

Much life-planning and much conscious altering of brain chemistry!! (but also knowing that it won't be permanent nd things might go awry)

Give a pop quiz question to Stevie about anything. Please provide the answer.

*

For example: What is the world’s largest sea slug? The Black Sea Hare

Which country has so many lonely deaths it sparked an industry and a new term? Japan, Kodokushi.

What is one advice you would give to Sharon as she turns 25?

*

If you wouldn’t be happy being in the same place two years from now, set a date with friends to imagine new futures.

Relationships and Friendships

Feel free to answer ALL questions under this category or only some, up to your capacity! The questions can be interpreted in any way, so answer however you wish!

Is love ever enough to maintain any type of relationship? Why yes or why no?

Yes! but depends on the kind of relationship ecosystem you choose. Define love and its seasons clearly, setting short-term cycles within a long-term growth plan. As we evolve, our minds and roots shift, so we need regular recalibration to stay aligned as we grow.

How do you cope with grief and loss?

This can refer to breakups, someone dying, losing something important, etc.

channel emotions like a current! guided by a support system that helps me turn deep feelings into something alive and purposeful. Emotion as intense as grief is not very common, so I let it flow into artistic/creative? growth, creating something my future self and others can witness and learn from.

How do you say no to people? To friends? To coworkers? To bosses?

Offer counter suggestion if u can think on your feet at the time, if not, let it rest and say, “I’ll mull it over.”

Money and Career

Feel free to answer ALL questions under this category or only some, up to your capacity! The questions can be interpreted in any way, so answer however you wish!

When you feel stuck career-wise, what should you do?

Talk to people in different seasons of life. What’s missing? Why do you feel in a rut? When sharing, you might help others grow as you grow too.

What is your best money saving hack or investment tip?

Make more friends across borders.

What should you NEVER say in an interview for a job?

Fuck you (derogatory)🖕🏼

How would you upskill yourself?

Work on small project centred on ikigai, make it work in a community, and what I lack in achieving my goal will be what i naturally would upskill.

Health

Feel free to answer ALL questions under this category or only some, up to your capacity! The questions can be interpreted in any way, so answer however you wish!

What are your best health hacks?

Talk to chronically sick people and ask how they are managing health. They have a knack on learning to listen to their bodies!

When you cannot sleep, what do you do?

orgazm 💤💤💤 or muscle contractions and conscious release meditation!

When eating is difficult, what can you do?

Hobbies and Interests

Feel free to answer ALL questions under this category or only some, up to your capacity! The questions can be interpreted in any way, so answer however you wish!

Finish this sentence: "Yay today is my me day, I will___________________________"

Hug a tree and find a comforting smell to latch onto for half a day (coffee, baking, cooking food, woodsmoke, petrichor, water minerals, dead leaves)

What is ONE life skill or hack someone should learn before they turn 30? Why?

Learn to cook one grounding dish that's your own staple. It should nourish you when you’re adrift, ground you through its familiar motions as a habit and also have enough warmth to feed others too.

What is the most exciting and interesting thing you know? Please explain it.

This could be a science theory, concept about a certain food, the history of a specific place, anything! Think about your knowledge you have that makes you excited to share.

Abiogenesis! Example: the Miller-Urey experiment in 1953 that simulated conditions of early Earth to see if life could arise from non-living matter. They be zapping through a sealed mixture of gases (methane, ammonia, hydrogen, and water) and found amino acids; evidence that organic molecules could be synthesized from inorganic compounds.

What are your must read books/watch movies and why?

Scent of the green papaya - (1993) a movie I'd watch for the breathtaking scenes.

What is a song that sits with you always? Why?

Others

Feel free to answer ALL questions under this category or only some, up to your capacity! The questions can be interpreted in any way, so answer however you wish!

What if someone doesn’t know what to do in their life? What should they do?

Describe your favorite place in Malaysia

This could a train station, a specific spot in your house at Sentul, a park that you really love, etc.

What do you think it means to be a good person? Do you think bad people actually exist?

If you were stranded on an island, what would you do?

Lastly, if you have any specific type of question you want to answer. Let me know here!

7 WAYS for achieving your purpose

CHOOSE YOUR DIRECTION make use of free will.   Jesus and the blind man. Why does Jesus ask him what he wants when it is obvious he want to see? Choose area (learning, marriage, finance, friendships) of importance to you, and make 3-10 goals. What measurable  and compelling goal is possible? Set the goal, and then you have the direction. Reticular activating system: it helps you find whatever you are focusing on.  E.g. Search for blue items. Okay, how many purple items are there? you don't know. Because you only focus on what you look for. Your brain gets excited and get power the moment it knows what direction it is about to take. Decide  your exact deadline when you will achieve it. Also, ascertain what you want to sacrifice . (time/money/patience/difficult situations) The price will be  "Where there is no vision, people perish"-Solomon  CHOOSE YOUR REASONS Do you have insight to yourself? Be a person of deep water, look deeper. Introspect. What...

Conflating the liberty of freedom and burden of choice, and finding the balance in between

"...the individual ceases to be himself; he adopts entirely the kind of personality offered to him by cultural patterns; and he therefore becomes exactly as all others are and as they expect him to be...The person who gives up his individual self and becomes an automaton, identical with millions of other automatons around him, need not feel alone and anxious any more. But the price he pays, however, is high; it is the loss of his self." -Escape From Freedom by Erich Fromm, first published by Holt, Rineheart and Winston, New York, 1941. http://www.alternativeinsight.com/Escape_from_freedom.html and then comes the question many strive to answer; what do we risk to lose when we are already in an individualised state of mind? Even more, i think. The attraction of the self makes it even harder to conform, whilst the pressure for conformity never ceases—in fact the pressure exponentially increases—staring you down through that bright screen all day and for most of the night. Freedo...
